The following information is intended for end-users of electrical and/or electronic equipment. Please note the following information in order to ensure environmentally sound disposal of end-of-life equipment, as well as your own safety.
The original EU Directive 2002/96/EC of the EU Parliament and Council on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) became effective on 13 August 2005 and the amended directive 2012/19/EU commonly known as the “WEEE Recast” or “WEEE2” became effective 13 August 2012 subject to local transposition in each EU member state.
The Directive imposes obligations for the collection; treatment; disposal and financing of WEEE - from users in households (or in some countries defined as consumer type products), likely to end into municipal waste streams - and from other than household users such as commercial customers. Financial obligations are different for household and commercial WEEE as well as for "historical waste" (of products put on the market before 13 August 2005) and "new waste" (of products put on the market after 13 August 2005). Additionally, the Directive requires that "new" products are marked and specific information is given to users and recycling companies.
SUNNY is complying with all the obligations pursuant the WEEE recast Directive and its transpositions into National Member State legislation as applicable. In Czech Republic this is the Act No. 7/2005 Coll which amended the Act No.185/2001.on waste and on amendments of certain acts and the Decree No 352/2005 on handling waste electronic and electrical equipment.
In conjunction with local legislation, SUNNY ensures the collection and treatment of products it has put on the market after August 13, 2005 – recognizable by the following waste bin logo placed directly on the equipment, and also of products put on the market before August 13, 2005 when they are replaced by an equivalent product or a product with the same functions. SUNNY offers the customers two take-back platforms to collect end-of-life SUNNY equipment as described below.
Information about return and collection of WEEE
In order to ensure proper disposal owners of WEEE may use return and collection facilities arranged and maintained by public waste management authorities. If applicable, returning of WEEE for the purpose of re-use might be possible at these facilities. More information can be obtained by the management of the facility.
